1. SuprAffs are BELIEVABLE. When you repeat an affirmation that you don't believe your are creating more problems than you're solving. An unbelievable affirmation such as "I'm rich" (if in fact you are not) creates a negative response subconsciously and even negative feelings.
Therefore, if your goal is to become "rich" you're much better off repeating an affirmation such as "I like it when I spend time each day planning my financial goals". This is something you (and your subconscious) will believe and you will have a positive feeling as a result.
2. SuprAffs are SPECIFIC. When you repeat an affirmation the more specific the wording the more likely it is to become effective.
3. SuprAffs are repeated while VISUALIZING that which you are trying to bring about. For example, If your affirmation is about weight control and you want to establish the habit of weighing daily then you could picture yourself on the scale while repeating the SuprAff.
4. SuprAffs are repeated when you're MOOD IS ELEVATED or you're excited. Affirm-ations work by creating memories and memories are best formed when you are emotional. Think back over your strongest memories and they are usually ones when you were feeling a great deal of emotion. If you are in a depressed mood try to visualize some prior positive experiences before starting your SuprAff routine (or better yet learn to dramatically elevate mood in minutes using the ASC routine.
5. SuprAffs are repeated at least once a day for an average of 21 days straight or until the new habit is firmly established (if you miss a day, add it to the total number).
Additional notes about SuprAffs:
A. The beauty of SuprAffs is that is that you don't have to really "work" or "suffer" to change things. The changes occur subtly over time because they work on changing your subconscious "self-image" and "conditioned responses" (learned habits). You just start "feeling different" about things. You start thinking about yourself in a different way. You start feeling more energetic, optimistic, upbeat and motivated. You just start "wanting" to take small steps towards new goals. You start "feeling" excited and optimistic about differently about your potential. You literally become a "different person".
B. It is very common to have multiple "RELAPSES" when learning new habits (sometimes even months or years after you think the new habit is well established or you have overcome an addiction). My advise is don't get discouraged. Just start the SuprAff routine again for a few days until things get back to normal. Nobody has to be perfect. Don't beat yourself up over it. An occasional slip is not the end of the world!
